The sadness of SHA's closing announcement was accompanied by concerns about where students in grades 9-11 would study in 2006-07 and where teachers and staff would be re-employed. These concerns were greatly reduced when doors were opened wide at schools throughout southwestern Connecticut and beyond. (They were also softened by the understanding of SHA's friends and their celebration of SHA's 84 years. One example is an article by Erin Walsh '86, which is posted here with the permission of The Stamford Advocate.) Although our former students and staff members have completed their own transitions, we maintain this page of contact information for the sake of others who may have happened on this site while searching for a school in southwestern Connecticut: Convent of the Sacred Heart in Greenwich is an all-girls, Catholic school, serving grades PK-12, founded and sponsored by the Society of the Sacred Heart. Public high school information has been omitted because enrollment in such schools is guaranteed, based on residency. This generous outpouring addressed Sister Jeanne's greatest immediate concerns. Even more importantly, it told us that the spirit enjoyed at SHA wass present in the schools that our girls would attend the following year. *** During Sister Jeanne's meeting with the parents of Juniors on January 21, she suggested that Juniors request letters of recommendation from their teachers during the Spring 2006 semester. The Academy offered supplemental college counseling and processing services in the fall following the Academy's closing, but teachers were obviously most accessible during the Spring 2006 semester. *** Student records were maintained on campus during the 2006-07 school year, then moved to the home of the Sisters of St. Joseph, 27 Park Road, West Hartford, CT 06119.
